Privacy policy

What we collect on crypticquill.com, why, and how to say no. Last updated October 2, 2026.

Who we are

Cryptic Quill, Inc. is a writing agency in New York. "We" in this policy means us. Questions about your information go to info@crypticquill.com.

What we collect, and when

When you sign up for a download or our newsletter, The Craft: your email address, and your name if the form asks for it, plus which page or video sent you.

When you book a call: your name, email, phone number if you give one, the time you chose and what the call is about.

When you browse: like almost every website, our hosting keeps basic technical logs (IP address, browser type, the page requested).

Analytics and advertising

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful, and may use the Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram) to measure our ads. Both use cookies or similar technology and receive information such as the pages you view, your device and your IP address.

You can opt out at any time. This site honors Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends that signal, the Meta Pixel does not load and Google is told not to use your visit for advertising. You can also use Google's opt-out add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout), change your ad preferences in Facebook or Instagram, or block cookies in your browser. The site works the same either way.

How we use it

To send what you asked for, to answer you, to hold and remind you about a booked call, to send the emails you signed up for (each one has an unsubscribe link), and to understand what is working on the site.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the companies that help us run the site, and only for that purpose: Klaviyo and Mailchimp (email lists), Resend (sending emails), Netlify (hosting and form backups), Supabase (call bookings), Google (analytics and fonts) and Meta (ad measurement). We will also share information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Email sign-ups until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Booking details for as long as we work together and the records rules require. Analytics data for as long as the analytics service keeps it, at most 14 months for Google Analytics.

Your choices and rights

You can ask what we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@crypticquill.com and we will answer within 30 days. We extend these rights to everyone, wherever you live.

Children

This site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13; if you think a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update it here and change the date at the top.
